Description/Blazon
A Gold metal and enamel device 1 5/32 inches (2.94 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, on a saltire Azure fimbriated Argent two Indian arrows Or behind a branch of prickly pear cactus Vert, in chief issuing out of the ordinary a rainbow Proper behind a fleur-de-lis of the fourth (Or). Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "EN AVANT" in Red letters.

Symbolism
The shield is red for Artillery. The blue saltire indicates the Civil War service and the arrows commemorate service during the last Indian uprising in the State. The cactus is for the Mexican Border service and the rainbow represents service during World War I with the 42d (Rainbow) Division in France, indicated by the fleur-de-lis. The motto translates to "Forward."

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 151st Field Artillery, Minnesota National Guard on 28 March 1925. It was redesignated for the 151st Field Artillery Battalion on 16 April 1942. On 19 July 1960, the insignia was redesignated for the 151st Artillery, Minnesota National Guard. It was redesignated for the 151st Field Artillery Regiment on 14 July 1972.
